The Foundation’s principal fundraising event is Dance Philly! – Every Step Counts, a dinner/dance hosted by veteran DJ Bob Pantano of WOCL-FM in Philadelphia. The event is held at a Philadelphia venue every year in the evening of the second Friday of November. In addition, to food, dancing to live music, a large silent auction and raffle, and local guest celebrities, Dance Philly is the occasion to present the annual Philly Legends Award to a Philadelphian who has reached the highest level of achievement in his or her field of endeavor, bringing pride to the City and inspiring peers everywhere. Past honorees have included former world heavyweight champion Joe Frazier, pop music legend Chubby Checker, and 1960s teen idol Bobby Rydell.
