The Hearts

QUEEN OF HEARTS - Steph Gelman

Sometimes people have a perfect, expected image of what things are supposed to be. My card represents the struggle of people trying to put together many pieces in order to fit that image that doesn’t turn out as desired. The lesson to be learned: Just be yourself!

KING OF HEARTS - Liz Van Voorhis

JACK OF HEARTS - Emma Fichtinger

When I was presented with my collage, I immediately noticed a giant horse head at the top of the paper. Coincidentally, I was dealt the Jack of Hearts, which led to the idea of using the horse as the head of the Jack.

10 OF HEARTS - Chris Smith

9 OF HEARTS - Susanna DeLaurentis

“I believe in myself now more than ever because I have reached many of my goals. I found out I have a lot of courage.”

7 OF HEARTS - Jamie Bolton

The heart symbolizes Susanna DeLaurentis. Although I didn’t know her, I am told she was a sweet little girl with a good heart. I hope the proceeds from these cards will help find a cure for cancer.

8 OF HEARTS - Chris Smith

6 OF HEARTS - Branndon Jones

Looking at this card is like taking a look inside of me. This card expresses humor, sexuality and my colorful personality. The hearts symbolize my love for children, animals and my favorite TV show, Friends. The Wizard of Oz is my all-time favorite movie, and it brings out my inner child who can still close his eyes and be in a world of fantasy and imagination.

5 OF HEARTS - Rashida Mosley

My card represents five important things I really love: my mom, my dad, my sister, my best friend, and my cat. It also represents five very special events in my life.

4 OF HEARTS - Jason Cassidy

2 OF HEARTS - Laura Dubin

My card represents love. It is up to the viewer to decide if the two hearts are joining together or breaking apart, therefore it suits the devotee and the struggler, the happy and the sad. The question each person faces is whether or not to begin the love with one heart, or to end it with the other.

3 OF HEARTS - Kristie Stein

My card represents chaos—my life within the past few years, most importantly my BIG MOVE from NY to PA.

ACE OF HEARTS - Ricardo Mallida

In the game of Blackjack, the ace symbolizes the number 11. On my card, the heart symbolizes the people’s hearts that September 11 touched when the TwinTowers were destroyed.
