The Clubs

KING OF CLUBS - Fiachra Malone

The King’s face in the card shows two faces, representing two aspects of each person’s life. The house represents how people are the King in their own house or family.

QUEEN OF CLUBS - Jason Cassidy

The card, “Queen of Clubs,” was not my choice, but the word “win” in the background of the collage motivated me to keep going and do my best with the card that life dealt me.

JACK OF CLUBS -
Matt Brown

10 OF CLUBS - Lindsay Rau

My card shows a rain forest. The wild energy of a rain forest is shown through the bright tropical colors in the plant patterns and animals. They represent a club of life, each playing a role, which fits together like a puzzle. If one would disappear, it would affect the whole.

9 OF CLUBS - Matt Klebanoff

Nine spirals around the card mimic the circular motion of the 9 of Clubs.

These spirals represent the cyclic pattern of everyday life.

8 OF CLUBS - Zana Bass

7 OF CLUBS - Bethany Mobbs

6 OF CLUBS - Zana Bass

My interest in abstract art and design is influenced by Acoma Indian pottery, Islamic calligraphy, and Sri Lankan batiks that I have grown up with all my life.

4 OF CLUBS - Jennifer Maahs

5 OF CLUBS - Jeff Scott

3 OF CLUBS - Jennifer St. Victor

This card represents me because I am one of three girls. It’s hard being the youngest of three. My parents always expect us to be the same, and do everything the others do. Every day I have to show my parents that I am different. I am one person, not three.

2 OF CLUBS - Min-Koo Jee

ACE OF CLUBS - Danielle Rackow

My card represents the parallel between my emotions and the weather. Each section of the club depicts a different type of weather that can also metaphorically represent feelings. The background collage also contains the running theme of emotion.
